UConn -Head coach Randy Edsall is beginning his 12th season at UConn and has led the Huskies to wins in 55 of UConn’s last 90 games dating back to the ninth game of the 2002 season. He has a 57-41 mark through the first 98 games in the Huskies tenure at Division I. -Team rides a four-game winning streak into the season dating back to 2009, with wins over Notre Dame, Syracuse, USF and South Carolina. -UConn is 2-0 versus the Big Ten with wins over Indiana in 2003 and ’06. -The Huskies are 7-1 in season openers since making the jump to then Division I-A in 2002. UConn has won each of its five season openers at Rentschler Field. -Five losses last season were by a combined 15 points and the Huskies held fourth quarter leads in four of the five games. -UConn has put together a 19-25 road record since 2002. In non-conference road affairs over the same span, Connecticut has posted a mark of 16-9 and has won eight of its last 10 such games.
