CFB Opportunity Knocks System of the Week

Last week's Cajun Sports NCAA Football System of the Week qualified the Iowa Hawkeyes minus the points over the Minnesota Gophers and they won and covered for us with a final score of 12 to 0. With last week’s win our system improved to 12-0 ATS. For those of you that may have missed last week's system here it is: In its Final Game, play AGAINST a Saturday road underdog of 3 -33 points seeking revenge for a home shutout SU loss and not off a conference SU loss of 7+ points.

This week's database research reveals a league-wide system that is active for one game on Saturday's college football schedule. The system has only been active thirteen times since 1985 and has posted a record of 12-0-1 ATS during that span.

System: From Game 11 on, play ON a home team with 5 season SU wins and 6 days rest off 3 SU losses vs. an opponent not off a conference home favorite SU win &ATS win of more than 13 points.

This will be the second week in a row that the system has been active which is certainly out of character for the system. Last week it qualified Michigan plus the points versus Ohio State and the database line on that game was Michigan +11 so it scored the game a Push. The two other most recent occurrences for this system happened on November 18th 2006 when it qualified South Carolina minus the points over Mid Tennessee State and the Gamecocks easily won and covered the 15.5 points with a final score of 52 to 7. Then way back on December 6th 2003 the system qualified Syracuse plus the points over Notre Dame and Syracuse not only covered the spread they won the game outright 38 to 12 as a 2.5 point home underdog and in the process gave this system another winner.

When looking a little closer at the system we see that the qualifying teams have averaged covering the spread by 18.0 points per game. Not only has this system provided winning selections for well over two decades it averages covering the spread by more than two touchdowns.

The focus of this system is on teams that currently have five wins on the season and need that all important sixth win to become bowl eligible. The teams enter today ' s contest off three straight up losses and know that this game could very well be their last opportunity to capture that sixth win. These play on teams have come out prepared and motivated when playing in front of their home crowd who is also very aware of what this particular game means to their team.

With all of the system parameters met this week's Cajun Sports NCAA System of the Week recommends a play on the Duke Blue Devils plus the points over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Durham on Saturday. Our play ON team for this week is Duke.
