UL Monroe is perhaps the best team in the Sun Belt conference this season as they return 7 offensive starters and 8 defensive starters, along with some key JUCO additions. They have a veteran quarterback with Kinsmon Lancaster who averaged 59% completions last year. UL Monroe’s veteran squad will not be intimidated tonight as they won at Alabama last year as a +24 point road underdog, and also lost by just two points at Kentucky as a +20 point road underdog in 2006.
Auburn is one of the best teams in the SEC this season, but head coach Tommy Tuberville is just 1-10 ATS when laying double-digits the past few seasons. Auburn has a strong defense, but their offense is likely to struggle today as they are breaking in a new system with a new offensive coordinator, plus they have a new quarterback.
Both defenses appear to hold the edge tonight and this should be a low scoring game which adds further value to the big underdog. UL Monroe is also a solid 9-3 ATS as a road underdog the past two seasons.
