Charlie Scott Dec 1, 2010 |
Dallas 8 consecutive games have gone OVER the total. Down 17 on Thanksgiving vs the Saints and didn't quit.
Bengals Defense has good schemes and are well coached. On Offense QB Palmer has lost arm strength, Ocho Cinco is a drama queen that won't go over the middle. T.O. has played suprisingly well.
Jets Defense hasn't been physically dominating as expected. ...

Charlie Scott's Pre Season Strategy |

Charlie Scott Aug 14, 2010 |
It feels like it’s been Years since we Won my Super Bowl play with Saints/Colts UNDER. I like most of you guys have the Football Action Jones and can’t wait for kickoff tonight Sat August 14. However, keep in mind that Pre Season is not as profitable as it once was for bettors. The Bookmakers have also learned how to use the internet for information and will move numbers on the fly ...

As Favorites in the NFL are on a 21-9 ATS run the last 2 weeks, I figured it was a good time to share some team notes and trends after the first 4 games of the season.
Baltimore 3-1 OVER, if the total is reasonable, the Ravens look like an Over team. The Ravens defense is good vs the run, but opponents offenses can pass on Ravens weak DB's. Baltimore's offense can run and pas ...

Boxing Mayweather/Marquez- Old time handicappers Bob McCune and Lem Banker’s advice on handicapping Vegas fights was always, if one boxer has an opportunity for another big pay day for himself and Vegas with a win, Bet on him ! In this case if Mayweather wins, he probably gets Pacquiao and a big pay day next.

U Conn What they do well: Has 2-3 future first round NBA Draft picks. Can shut down opponents on defense. Their defense creates fast breaks for the offense. Questions: Struggles at times to score in half court offense. Can anybody besides AJ Price shoot from outside ? Will they miss PG Dyson in a close game ? Free Throw shooting ? Bench depth ?

Elite 8 Review |

Charlie Scott Mar 30, 2009 |
It took a while, but we finally got to see some well played College Basketball games.
Louisville- They looked flat or hungover in Sunday’s loss to Michigan State. Head Coach Tom Izzo out -coached Pitino and showed why he is one of the best in the business. Michigan St/Kansas on Friday was as well- played and well-coached as any game that I can remember.
In Louisville ...

As we approach March Mayhem tip off, our brackets are filled out, and we're sure we have isolated this Year's Davidson. Have you noticed that when the media hypes the NCAA Tournament, it highlights the upsets of the George Masons,Vermonts, and Davidsons? The media doesn't say much about #1 seeds blowing out #16 seeds. The general public loves the David beats Goliath story. So I wen ...

As Conference Tournaments begin, keep in mind two important handicapping factors for Conference Tournament play. One is team motivation, for some teams ( Louisville) they might be better off losing in the first game of the Big East Tournament and getting a week off to rest before the NCAA Tourney starts, than having to play 3 consecutive games to win the Big East. Can you remember who won l ...

It's Hip to be a Square & on the Cardinals |
|
Charlie Scott Jan 31, 2009 |
As the media hype winds down for Super Bowl 43, everyone and anyone has an opinion on which team will cover the spread between the Steelers and Arizona. The squares say, "I love AZ !" The dog has covered 3 of the last 5 Super Bowls, but the dog has won straight up just once in those last five Super Bowls. However, that one win was last Years' Giants upset over the undefeated NE Patriots. Kee ...

Charlie Scott's Super Bowl Strategy |

Charlie Scott Jan 28, 2009 |
p>For this media hyped week, when every idiot is an expert and everybody including my Mom has an opinion, here's a couple of trends from recent Super Bowls to keep in mind. Going back 5 Super Bowls to when the Pats beat the Panthers 32-29, 4 favorites have won straight up, but the favorite is 2-3 ats, and the last 4 Super Bowls have gone UNDER. Also keep in mind that the general public who come ou ...

Charlie Scott Nov 22, 2008 |
The highly irregular hijinks in the final seconds of the Chargers/Steelers game last Sunday open the door a little wider for doubts and discussions of NFL officiating. While NBA Ref Tim Donagy is still fresh in fans minds. There are two possible explanations, one or more of the game officials did not want the Steelers to cover the spread, or this was just the latest example of terrible ...

Charlie Scott Oct 16, 2008 |
College Football 1st Head Coach firing came from Clemson, as Tommy Bowden is out, but he will still collect his paycheck. Under Bowden, Clemson generally won the games they were supposed to win, but seldom could come up with a big game win. Despite the fact that Bowden is not a great gameday coach, he is a good recruiter and will likely be a head coach again next season. So ...

I know this is a NFL blog, but it would be wrong not to mention the Oregon st upset special over USC last night. It's one thing for a team to lose, it happens in sports, but to lose the way USC did losing the line of scrimmage battle , getting out rushed by over +100 yds. This is what makes NCAAF great, less than 2 weeks ago USC beat up Ohio st like a little brother, and now last night the sa ...

I would like to start off this week by asking the media (ESPN) to get a clue before they speak. At the end of the Fla/Miami game when Fla. coach Urban Meyer elected to kick a field goal instead of taking a knee, thereby running out the clock, Kirk Herbstreet said that Meyer was doing so (adding points to the board) for recruiting purposes and Brent Musberger, who has been known to place a wager ...

Notes For College Football Week 1A/ |
|
Charlie Scott Sep 2, 2008 |
I'll start out by stating, that although we are barely through the first week of NCAA football, I'm already sick and tired of ESPN analyst Lou Holtz. I will call last weekend's NCAA only football card week 1A and next week will be NFL & NCAA week 1.
California Sophomore RB Best highly recruited and can play. There shouldn't be a QB controversy; Riley should be the starting QB fo ...

Charlie Scott Aug 22, 2008 |
Now that the Brett Favre circus has moved from Green Bay to New York, let's take a look on how the move effects Football bettors. In late July the media brought us the Brett Favre/Packers soap opera 24 hours a day and now it has moved to New York, the media capital of the world. How does the Brett Favre media saga effect football bettors ? The answer is public overreaction. When the Jet ...
