The Mets were happy to be back home last night when they crushed St. Louis 8-2. They are now 31-16 at home on the season, and I really like their chances with ace Johan Santana toeing the rubber this evening. The road has not been very kind to St. Louis this season. In fact, the Cardinals are only 3-13 in their last 16 games as a road underdog and 0-7 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600. They'll really have their work cut out for themselves against Santana. The Mets are 4-0 in Santana's last 4 starts, during which he has only allowed 2 runs in his last 31 innings of work. Plus, Santana is 2-0 (3-1 on the money line) when starting against the Cards with an ERA of 2.03. Cardinals southpaw Garcia is having a solid season, but he hasn't been as strong on the road. Plus, the Mets are 9-1 in their last 10 home games versus a left-handed starter. I'm getting behind Santana here tonight.

Hernandez has been solid at home for the Nats all season, but he doesn't have a good track record against Atlanta. And recently, the Nationals are just 2-6 in Hernandez's last 8 home starts versus the Braves. Meanwhile, Hudson has owned the Nats, going 9-1 (10-5 on the money line) with an ERA of 1.51 in his career. The Braves are 8-3 in Hudson's last 11 starts versus the Nationals. The Braves have been a strong favorite. In fact, they are 41-15 in their last 56 games as a favorite and 20-6 in their last 26 games as a favorite of -110 to -150. They are also 8-1 in Hudson's last 9 starts as a favorite of -110 to -150. Lastly, the Braves are 20-8 in their last 28 games following a loss. We'll take Atlanta in this bounce back spot tonight.

With the way Florida has struggled against southpaw starters, smart money goes on Sanchez and the Giants tonight. The Marlins are scoring only 3.9 runs per game against lefty starters this season. The Giants are 6-1 in Sanchez's last 7 starts as a favorite and 9-2 in his last 11 starts as a favorite of -110 to -150. Look for the red hot Giants to get to Sanabia tonight, and Sanchez will take care of the rest.
